Bloggiesta To Do List: Winter 2016

I’m very excited to be participating in a Bloggiesta event for the first time! For those who don’t know, Bloggiesta is blogging marathon in which a bunch of bloggers band together to challenge and support each other as we each work on improving our blogs. This coming weekend (Saturday the 16th and Sunday the 17th) is the yearly winter mini Bloggiesta! You can find out more at the Bloggiesta website.

Bloggiesta-Mini 16

On New Year’s Day, I posed a list of broad goals I’d like to accomplish with this blog over the coming year. But today I’d like to share my to do list of concrete tasks to accomplish this weekend in order to get going down the right path.

To Do List:
  • Leave at least 5 comments on posts by other bloggers
  • Participate in the Bloggiesta twitter chat on Sunday at 2pm Eastern
  • Do a Bloggiesta mini challenge
  • Post reviews on Goodreads and Amazon with links back to the blog
  • Sort through my genre categories
  • Plan out my next 3-5 posts
  • Evaluate my sidebar, and rearrange if necessary

Are you participating in Bloggiesta? Have you done it in the past? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I wish you all the best of luck with your to do list, especially with planning your next few posts. I’m absolutely terrible at that, always doing things last minute, not planning. The only time I ever really schedule posts is when I have an ARC review. You’ll have to let me know your secrets! X

    1. Haha, I was pretty good at it when I first started blogging, but now I find I’m writing my posts closer and closer to when they have to go up. I try to just sit down and write whenever I have free time and an idea (or just whenever I have free time and can force myself to have ideas). I motivate myself with the fear of getting to Monday and not having a post ready to go up–I haven’t missed a Monday yet since starting this blog! (Knock on wood.)

My idea system is to write each post a week in advance, so over the weekends I’d be writing a post for the Monday of the following week. Even more ideally, I’d have a non-time sensitive back up post or two ready to go in case I have a super hectic week. Of course, I haven’t been living this idea for a while now, but I’m hoping to work my way back up to this.

  2. Thanks for your support, guys! I’m definitely extending my bloggiesta to Monday, since this weekend has been super busy and I’ve barely gotten started on blog stuff. Still hoping to get through these all, though!

    1. Thank you! I’ve only managed to get about half of my goals done so far, but I’m going to keep working on them throughout the week.
I think if I realized how hectic this weekend was going to get, I would have kept mine simple, too! haha
      Thanks for the visit!
