Today is the last day of the #TransRightsReadathon! If you’re on BookTok, Bookstagram, or BookTwitter, then you’ve probably seen people posting all week using this hashtag. The Trans Rights Readathon is a decentralized fundraising effort started by author Sim Kern in response to recent anti-trans legislation being passed or proposed around the country. Using this hashtag, bookish content creators on all social media platforms have pledged to read as many books by trans authors or featuring trans representation as they can between March 20 and March 27, while raising money for organizations that support trans people and trans rights.

Review of Cemetery Boys—Ghosts and Gendered Magic
It’s one thing to bring a boy home in Yadriel’s traditional Latinx family—but it’s quite another thing to bring home a ghost boy… It’s finally here! The book I’ve been most excited for this year. Cemetery Boys is a YA fantasy novel by debut author Aiden Thomas that combines queer romance, gender transition, coming-of-age, latinx culture-inspired magic, and a murder mystery. It was originally scheduled to come out in June, but thanks to coronavirus reschedulings, we’ve had to wait three more agonizing months. Every Heart a Doorway Review—Macabre Fantasy and Representation
There are many books out there about kids who discover magical worlds and the wonderful adventures they have there. But what happens afterward, when they come back through the rabbit hole and have to return to their normal lives? In Every Heart a Doorway, these children go to a special boarding school where they can share their experiences with those who will understand, readjust to the normal world, and come to terms with the fact that they may not ever return to the land they truly consider home. This novella is the first book in a new series called Wayward Children by Seanan McGuire. I had no idea what to expect going into this book, but it hit almost every sweet spot for me.
